What a Thermaline tune-up covers
- Electrical — capacitor readings against spec, contactor condition, connections torqued, amp draws recorded.
- Cooling side — refrigerant pressures and superheat/subcooling, evaporator and condenser coil condition, condensate drain cleared and treated.
- Heating side — combustion analysis, heat exchanger inspection, flame sensor cleaned, gas pressure verified, CO measured at the registers.
- Airflow — blower wheel condition, static pressure readings, filter fit and MERV rating, visible duct issues flagged.
- Safeties & controls — limit switches, float switches, pressure switches, and thermostat calibration all exercised, not just glanced at.

How often should my HVAC system be serviced?
Twice a year: a cooling tune-up in spring before the first heat wave, and a heating tune-up in fall before the first freeze. That cadence catches worn parts while they're cheap, keeps efficiency from drifting down, and satisfies the documented-maintenance requirement most manufacturers attach to their parts warranties. If you only do one, prioritize the season your system works hardest — in central Ohio, that's honestly a coin flip.
What does a Comfort Club membership include?
Every plan includes scheduled seasonal tune-ups (one on Essential, both AC and furnace on Comfort and Total Care), a repair discount (10–15% depending on tier), and priority scheduling ahead of non-members. Comfort adds a waived diagnostic fee; Total Care adds waived after-hours fees, an annual ductwork inspection, and extended-warranty support. Plans are month-to-month or annual — no multi-year contracts.
Does a maintenance plan actually pay for itself?
For most homes, yes. The Comfort plan costs less per year than two à-la-carte tune-ups, so the repair discount, waived diagnostic fee, and priority scheduling ride along free. I have two systems (or a rental property) — how do plans work?
Each plan covers one complete heating-and-cooling system. Homes with two systems (common in larger two-stories) add the second at a discounted rate, and landlords can enroll multiple properties under one account with per-property paperwork — several of our members are landlords who like that tenants can call us directly while the owner just gets the report.
