Indoor Air Quality

Whole-home filtration, humidity control, and ventilation that fix stale air, allergies, and dry winters at the system level.

Your HVAC system moves the same air through your house a dozen times a day — which makes it the right place to fix air problems, and the wrong place to ignore them. Whether it’s allergy season making itself felt indoors, winter static and cracked-lip dryness, or a musty smell the candle aisle can’t fix, the solutions live at the system level.

What we install

  • Media filter cabinets — a properly sized 4–5” MERV 11–13 media filter catches far more than a 1” hardware-store filter without strangling airflow. One change a year instead of monthly.
  • Whole-home humidifiers — Ohio winter air is desert-dry once it’s heated. A furnace-mounted humidifier holds the house at a comfortable 35–45% RH, protecting wood floors, sinuses, and static-shocked pets.
  • UV germicidal lamps — mounted at the evaporator coil, where dark and damp otherwise grow the biofilm responsible for “dirty sock” smells.
  • Energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) — modern tight houses need deliberate fresh air. An ERV exchanges stale indoor air for fresh outdoor air while keeping most of the energy you paid to condition it.
  • Duct cleaning & sealing — leaky return ducts pull attic and crawlspace air into the system. Sealing them improves both air quality and efficiency, and it’s one of the least glamorous, highest-payoff fixes we do.

Where to start

Start with the diagnosis, not a catalog. Half our IAQ visits end with a filter upgrade and a duct-sealing recommendation rather than a four-figure equipment package — the right fix is the one matched to what’s actually in your air.

How it works

From first look to final walkthrough

  1. Diagnosis

We assess what's actually in your air — filtration, humidity readings, ventilation paths, and duct condition — before recommending anything.

  2. Upfront Quote

A flat, written price for the specific fix, whether that's a media filter upgrade, a whole-home humidifier, or duct sealing. No mystery bundles.

  3. Install

Equipment mounts into your existing system — filter cabinets, humidifiers, UV lamps, or ERVs — installed and calibrated in a single visit for most homes.

  4. Warranty & Follow-up

Written labor warranty on every install, plus filter and maintenance schedules documented so the equipment keeps doing its job.

Questions

Indoor Air Quality FAQs

More answers on the full FAQ page — or call and ask a person.

My house has no ductwork — can I still get central heating and cooling?

Yes — ductless mini-splits were built for exactly this. One outdoor unit feeds up to five compact indoor heads, each cooling and heating its own zone with its own remote, with no ducts to run and no plaster to tear open. They're the standard answer for Columbus's older radiator-heated homes, additions, finished attics, and bonus rooms. Efficiency is excellent because there are no duct losses at all.
